The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA), in conjunction with the PDA, aims to develop Career Development programs for postdoctoral trainees and also actively advocates for wider inclusion of postdoctoral trainees in other university organized workshops and events. Additional experience in scientific writing, business management, intellectual property, teaching, etc. may be necessary for the postdoc to attain his or her career goals. To address these, a series of Faculty, Postdoctoral Scholars and Senior Graduate Student Development Seminar Sessions is currently being developed.
In addition, programs to discuss the following will also be developed:
Funding and Grant Writing Workshops
Immigration Law Seminar
Local and regional postdoctoral training event information
Networking Opportunities
Informational websites/career guides
PhDs.org
HHMI Making the Right Moves
Other HHMI-resources for the early development of early-career scientists
