Wayne State University School of Medicine Grants Incentive Program (GIP) for Postdoctoral Trainees and their Research Mentors
The WSUSOM Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is pleased to announce an incentive program for SOM postdoctoral trainees submitting applications for national peer-reviewed extramural funding. Open to all SOM Postdocs in the first six years of training.
In this program, the first ten SOM postdoctoral trainees to submit applications to national funding agencies for peer-reviewed fellowships or grants in each academic year (August through July cycle) will receive $1,000 upon proof of application submission. An additional $1,000 award will be made to each SOM postdoctoral trainee upon successful receipt of such a fellowship/grant from the funding agency. The research mentor of the trainee will also receive a $1,000 award when the trainee obtains a grant/fellowship.
To qualify for the OPA awards, such applications must be the equivalent of the NIH K, K99/R00 or F32 series of grants/fellowships/career development.
