Wayne State University has a thriving academic community which includes over 300 postdoctoral fellows.  The University prides itself on recruiting skilled and talented scholars from around the world and would like to ensure they receive the highest quality training.  Postdoctoral training is an opportunity to enhance skills and better prepare for future careers and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) serves the role of a central office to support and enhance the training provided. Our Mission
Our mission is to enhance the postdoctoral experience at WSU by providing resources to aid postdoctoral scholars with their professional and personal development. We aim to provide information and support on a range of topics including career advancement, financial support, and childcare/family issues. We are also focused on representing postdoctoral causes to the university administration. In addition, we would like to facilitate social interaction between postdocs at WSU, with the goal of building a community who can benefit from each others’ knowledge and experiences.

Officers and Committees
The WSU Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is run by a President and a Vice President, and 2 Committee members who chair meetings dedicated to promoting Advocacy, Career Development and Social Activities for all postdocs at WSU. Any PDA member can serve on the Committee and elections are held every year.
 
Positions often open up during the year so please don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested in becoming more involved.
